In 1989 an ‘average Australian bloke’ had a simple idea to make a difference in his own backyard – Sydney Harbour. … It is hard to believe that this campaign began as the inspiration of one man, Australian builder and solo yachtsman, Ian Kiernan.
Today we join the millions of people that band together to make a difference.
Did you know that more than 16,500 tonnes of rubbish had been collected during Clean Up Australia day by volunteers across the country. By reducing our waste, we are also conserving our resources and maintaining our environments to prevent pollution caused by reducing the need to harvest new raw materials. Saving energy and reducing greenhouse gas emissions that contribute to global climate change.
We are honoured to be part of Clean Up Australia to help sustain the environment for future generations.
